Ship Lightering, Harbor Services, Barge Chartering

With the advent of large “cape” sized ships, foreign cargoes and deep draft inland vessels, ship lightering has become a significant focus at Express Marine. During the last 15 years, we have gained significant experience in lightering both large and small vessels containing a variety of dry and wet bulk cargoes. We are experienced in both deep water and “inland” lightering. Our wide variety of equipment is ideally suited to handle your bulk lightering requirements safely and dependably.

Express Marine provides Harbor Services to ship owners and other customers throughout our area of operations. Docking, undocking and all other “assist” work is done safely and reliability by our fleet of tugs and expert crews.

Express Marine owns and operates a fleet of both large and small barges. These barges can be leased to customers to meet their temporary storage and/or transportation requirements. Many of these barges are equipped with uniquely designed fiberglass hatch covers that protect the cargo from the elements. This design is particularly effective for transportation and/or storage of high value Commodities and Assets.
